India’s Biggest Paratha | Tapasya Paratha Junction @ Rohtak, Haryana | Tadka Review

A chapati-dish loved by many

Paratha needs no introduction. It has been staple in Indian homes for centuries, specially in north region. Mainly a chapati that is cooked using oil, butter or ghee, depending on your liking, on top of tava. And if it is stuffed with variety of vegetables then it becomes a delicious dish to eat directly or with sides like achar (pickle), curd, and butter milk.

A must visit place if you are in Rohtak

Tapasya Paratha, located in Rohtak serves this huge paratha and is very popular among locals and tourists if you visit on weekend. A random recommendation by my brother gave me a chance to visit this place for the dinner.

It was easy to find and parking was no problem near the shop front. It was hard to judge from outside but inside was large enough to serve many families at once. Finding a table was quick, and the owner was very humble and greeted us himself upon entering.

From the moment I entered the shop I was loving the atmosphere.

Easy to pick menu

This was a rare thing to happen. A menu that didn’t take long to chose. The variety of parathas were outstanding but it all came down to our personal preference. One person just cannot eat a full sized pratha (there is a larger variant as well) and will require three, unless you have a huge stomach and equally huge diet.

I was confident and ordered a full sized aalu matar paratha for myself. Clearly I over estimated my appetite. When the paratha arrived it was huge, just a bit shy from touching the width of the table. A full sized aalu matar paratha with green chutney, butter, raita and pickle.

The aroma would give you the appetite but I clearly couldn’t eat it alone and they knew, so they never ordered for themselves. three of us started munching on the paratha with our utmost focus. It was delicious!!!

We were done eating, we were as full as we could be. It was 1 full paratha and it satisfied 3 people’s appetite.

Conclusion

If you are ever visiting Rohtak, Tapasya Paratha is a must visit. There are three sizes available, medium, full and large, and a full size can feed three people easily. The price is also very reasonable. A good menu, humble staff, lovely atmosphere, reasonable prices, delicious parathas, overall Tapasya Paratha is a place to visit more than once.
