Dinner and Dosa | Tadka Review – Sambhar Sa

Dosa is a South Indian dish that consists of rice flour batter fried into thin circular pancakes. The name comes from the Tamil word dosa meaning ‘to fold’. This dish is perfect for those who want something quick and easy to eat after a long day at work or school.

Dosa has become very popular in recent years. It is available now in almost every region in India. There are even restaurants serving authentic dosas.

Although being originated in the southern region, dosa, tastes best when cooked with its local spices however there are some restaurants in Jaipur that have managed to stay as close as possible to the authentic flavour. One of those restaurants is Sambhar Sa.

Rasam Shots

As soon as we sat on the table, we were welcomed by a very humble waiter. He gave us the menu and we started going through it when he put rasam shots with papad. To our surprise, we were told that these are complimentary. I am not a person to refuse free food, so i dug in and it was delicious. Worst part in any restaurant after ordering the food is waiting for it but this surprise made waiting so much pleasant experience.

Masala Dosa

Why masala dosa? Masala dosa is a South Indian dish consisting of rice flour batter fried into a crispy pancake. Its delicious, healthy, and is always a delight.

Masala dosa is also known as ‘masala dosai’ or ‘masala vada’. This dish is usually served with sambar (a spicy lentil stew) and coconut chutney.

Coffee

I wish I could say you can never go wrong with coffee but that’d be a lie. It is very common to screw up coffee whether its made by hand of a machine. However this was not that case. Coffee from Sambhar Sa was as good as coffee can get. Absolutely love it.

I am a software engineer who also happened to take cooking as a hobby. My love for flavours have only increased since. With every new dish I make, I add my own twist to it to make it more flavoury for my liking. I hope you enjoy my recipes just as much as I enjoy making them.
