Papdi Chaat is a popular snack food in India. It is basically a mixture of fried bread (Chaat), spicy potato curry (chaat) and sweetened yogurt (lassi). It is a delicious combination of flavors and textures.

Pros and Cons:-

Pros:

-It’s delicious!

-You get to eat something sweet and spicy.

-It’s cheap and easily accessible.

-You can eat it while watching TV.

Cons:

-It’s not great for your digestion.

-It’s really bad for your waistline.

Utilization of Papdi chaat

It is a snack to go whenever you want to feel sweet and sour flavour in your mouth. It works well for occasions like guest visits, strolling outside, evening cravings, or even while watching TV. It is certainly not towards healthy category but its small quantity wouldn’t affect anything in a long term.

The recipe I am sharing here is my own version of this chaat. You can make it at home easily and enjoy the taste of authentic Indian snacks.

Ingredients

Adjust Servings
50 g Papdi or Mathri Easily available at a bakery/confectionary store
2 boiled Potatoes cut in big pieces
½ bowl Curd/Yogurt
½ tbsp Tamarind Chutney
½ tbsp Ketchup
½ tsp Pink Salt
½ tsp Chaat Masala
½ Black Pepper
½ tsp Red Chilli powder
Optional
10g Sev

Making

Crush the Papdi or Mathri in a bowl and spread it across. Add potato slices in the mix.
Cover it with Curd/Yogurt. Add Tamarind chutney and Ketchup on top. Do not mix. Sprinkle the spices and sev, and serve it cold.
